Commission makes a first assessment of its action plan on trade and sustainable development

26/04/2019 (Agence Europe)Fourteen months after the publication in February 2018 of its 15-point action plan to make the chapters on trade and sustainable development in free trade agreements between the EU and non-Member States (see EUROPE 11971/10) more effective, the European Commission will present an initial assessment to civil society on Monday 29 April. According to the Commission, this meeting will make it possible to “give an account of the progress made so far highlighting the main initiatives that have been undertaken in this regard”. The meeting will also take stock of the strengthened engagement on these issues with Cambodia and Myanmar (see EUROPE 12191/12, 12125/20). More than 70 representatives of civil organizations - NGOs, industries, chambers of commerce - registered for this meeting.
