European Parliament opposes proposed further authorisation of certain uses of DEHP phthalate and chromium trioxide

The European Parliament objected on Wednesday 27 March to the Commission's proposal to partially authorise the use of chemical substances of very high concern under the REACH Regulation - DEHP phthalate, toxic for reproduction, and chromium trioxide, a carcinogen and mutagen. 

The objection to the authorisation of certain uses of DEHP was adopted by 545 votes to 50 against, with 24 abstentions, for Deza a.s. and by a show of hands for Grupa Azoty Zakłady Azotowe Kędzierzyn S.A. The...
