15/03/2019 (Agence Europe) – Taking advantage of the Employment and Social Policy Council and the presence of ministers, the Slovak Permanent Representation organised an event on Thursday 14 March at the end of the day to present its candidature to take over the seat of the European Labour Authority, with an address by the Slovak Minister of Labour, Ján Richter. He presented the future premises that could host the future headquarters (https://bit.ly/2HqsvVM ) and highlighted the central geographical position of his country. Mr Richter strongly stressed the need to address the issue of social dumping caused by migrants from third countries. The day before, the Committee of Permanent Representatives gave the green light to the procedure for selecting Member States' applications (see EUROPE 12214/33). Three states are currently in the running: Slovakia, Cyprus and Latvia. Others should come. (PH)
