27/02/2019 (Agence Europe) – The European Union Road Federation (ERF) and the European Association of Operators of Toll Road Infrastructures (ASECAP) welcomed, in separate communiqués on 26 and 27 February, the interinstitutional agreement of 21 February on the revision of the Directive (2008/96/EC) on road infrastructure safety management (see EUROPE 12199). “The outcome of the negotiations is welcomed by the ERF, as these positions reflect the efforts completed by the road infrastructure sector to improve road safety in the EU”, said Christophe Nicodème, Director General of the organisation. ASECAP is ready to cooperate with the European Commission on the implementation of the new text, which was also approved by the Member States' ambassadors to the EU on Wednesday 27 February (see other news).
