19/02/2019 (Agence Europe) – The European Parliament's Committee on Agriculture decided on Tuesday 19 February that the vote on the three reports on the post-2020 Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) will take place in early April (see EUROPE 12190). "There will therefore be no agreement at first reading", launched Czesław Adam Siekierski (EPP, Poland), chairman of this committee. MEPs will therefore not be able to take a decision on the matter in the European Parliament plenary session before the end of the legislature. The new Parliament from the May elections will have to negotiate with the Council on the future CAP. This decision was first taken in the morning by a majority of the political group coordinators of the parliamentary committee. Differences appeared in the committee, but the objection was rejected by a vote. (LC)
