European Parliament/Council agreement at hand on review of copyright

On Friday evening, 8 February, the Member States' ambassadors to the European Union (Coreper) granted a negotiating mandate to the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the EU on copyright reform (see EUROPE 12187). 

The required quorum was barely reached, pointed out one observer. 

The only changes compared to the previous version concern the neighbouring right for newspaper publishers (Article 11). At the request of the Czech Republic, they refer to compliance with employment...
