06/02/2019 (Agence Europe) – The spokesperson for the Government of the Republic of Cyprus, Prodromos Prodromou, announced on Wednesday 6 February that a meeting would be held between the Greek and Turkish Cypriot leaders, Nicos Anastasiades and Mustafa Akinci, “in the second half of February” (see EUROPE 12157). The decision to hold a meeting was taken in a telephone conversation on 6 February between Mr Anastasiades and Mr Akinci, said Mr Prodromou in a written statement reported by the Cypriot media. Mr Anastasiades met with the UN Secretary General's Special Envoy on Cyprus, Jane Holl Lute, on 4 February. The last meeting between the Greek and Turkish Cypriot leaders was held on 26 October 2018 (see EUROPE 12126). (CG)
