Polish fraud on damaged beef: European Commission is monitoring situation closely

Following the discovery of 800 kg of tainted beef from Poland in France - a Europe-wide fraud - the Commission is in close contact with the Polish authorities, who are currently carrying out an investigation, the institution said on Friday 1 February. They triggered the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) on 29 January "at the request of the Commission”, the institution said.
