Article 7 proceedings initiated against Poland and Hungary on General Affairs Council agenda on 19 February

Poland and Hungary will again be on the agenda of the General Affairs Council on 19 February, the ambassadors of the Twenty-Eight (Coreper) decided on Wednesday 30 January. 

More specifically, they requested an overview of the Article 7 procedures on respect for the rule of law, launched by the Commission at the end of 2017 and the European Parliament in September 2018 respectively.
