29/01/2019 (Agence Europe) – The next edition of EU Green Week (13–17 May) will spotlight the implementation of EU environmental legislation and its impact on citizens’ lives in an attempt to demonstrate its added value, if effective. The objective will be to raise awareness of this implementation’s importance in improving air quality, protecting nature, and encouraging good waste management and recycling. Green Week 2019 will be an opportunity to reflect on the reasons why this comprehensive body of legislation has been poorly implemented and on how all the actors concerned and the EU can help rectify implementation gaps. Thematic sessions, workshops, and exhibition stands will complement this international event organised by the European Commission, which will take place this year just before the European elections.
