The European Commission decided on Thursday 24 January to refer Germany to the EU Court of Justice for failure to correctly apply EU VAT refund rules to companies located in other Member States.
The issue is the country's refusal to refund VAT in certain cases without first having requested additional information from the applicant, when it considers that the information provided on the nature of the goods and services provided is not sufficient to decide on the request.
