EU takes note of provisional results of elections and calls for restraint pending final results

Following the announcement of the provisional results of the presidential election in the Democratic Republic of Congo, which unexpectedly gave winning candidate Félix Tshisekedi 38.57% of the vote, the EU had not made any statement by press release on Thursday 10 January in the late afternoon, refusing to take a decision at this stage, unlike some Member States, such as Belgium and France, which expressed doubts about these results.
