Inflation at 1.9% in November in euro area

17/12/2018 (Agence Europe)Euro area and EU annual inflation rates were 1.9% and 2.0% respectively in November, according to figures published by the Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat) on Monday 17 December. The lowest annual rates were recorded in Denmark (0.7%), Ireland (0.8%) and Portugal (0.9%). The highest annual rates were recorded in Estonia, Hungary and Romania (3.2% each). Compared with October, annual inflation fell in twenty-five Member States, remained stable in one and rose in one other. In November, the largest contributions to annual inflation in the euro area came from energy (+0.88 percentage points, pp), followed by services (+0.57 pp), food, alcohol & tobacco (+0.38 pp) and industrial goods excluding energy (+0.11 pp).
