06/12/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 6 December, the EU Council adopted a strategy and action plan for e-justice for the period 2019-2023 (see EUROPE 12100), with the 2014-2018 strategy and action plan due to expire in December. The work will focus on three key objectives: - improve access to information in the field of justice; - continue the digitisation of judicial and extrajudicial procedures; - facilitate interconnection and interoperability between Member States' systems. As in the previous action plan, many projects are planned to further improve the functioning of the e-justice portal, a website launched by the EU in 2010 to inform European citizens about their rights and to support legal professionals in their daily work.
