05/12/2018 (Agence Europe) – The truck drivers' unions, represented by the European Transport Workers' Federation (ETF), are not satisfied with the political agreement in principle reached by the Transport Council on Monday 3 December on the social and market aspects of the first ‘mobility’ package (posting of hauliers, driving and resting times, cabotage, access to market, tachograph) (see EUROPE 12152). “The Council had a chance to apply EU rules on fair pay for posted workers to road transport - what a missed opportunity to show millions of drivers that Europe is against wage-based discrimination!”, said Eduardo Chagas, Secretary General of the organisation, in a statement issued on Tuesday, 4 December.
