04/12/2018 (Agence Europe) – The first inter-institutional meeting on the re-use of public sector information will be held on 12 December, according to information presented by the Austrian Minister of Technology to his counterparts on Tuesday 4 December. According to him, the positions of Parliament and the Council differ on 3 points: (1) Parliament wants the list of high-value data packages to take the form of an annex, updated by means of a delegated act, while the Council prefers implementing acts; (2) unlike the Council, Parliament would like the Directive to cover documents from private undertakings produced as part of a service of general economic interest and to exclude documents relating to activities directly exposed to competition; (3) Parliament calls for certain exceptions allowing public sector bodies to charge higher fees.
