Agreement between EU institutions on Spirit Drinks Regulation

27/11/2018 (Agence Europe) – Negotiators from the three EU institutions reached political agreement on Tuesday 27 November on the text of the regulation detailing the rules for the production and labelling of spirit drinks (see EUROPE 11972). The text also covers spirit drinks registered as geographical indications (GIs). The European Commissioner for Agriculture, Phil Hogan, welcomed the agreement and participated in the final trilogue.
