Reduction of CO2 emissions from new heavy goods vehicles, ambition narrowly triumphs in European Parliament

This is a potential victory for climate and innovation. By a narrow majority (373 votes in favour, 285 against and 16 abstentions), the European Parliament was much more ambitious than the European Commission when it voted on Wednesday, 14 November in Strasbourg, on the draft regulation of last May aimed, for the first time, at imposing CO2 emission reduction targets on the European fleet of new heavy commercial vehicles.
