MEPs are divided on Global compact for migration, but generally disappointed by withdrawal of some countries

MEPs were divided on Tuesday 13 November on the Global compact for migration, piloted and approved by the UN in July: they are divided between supporters of the Pact, concerned that several Member States, including Austria and Hungary, have decided not to join it, and those concerned about the content of the Pact in that they believe it could introduce new obligations for Member States.
