13/11/2018 (Agence Europe) – The spokeswoman of the European External Action Service urged on Monday 12 November that “all violent actions should stop immediately” in Gaza, saying that the escalation of violence in and around Gaza during the last hours is “very alarming”. “The EU urges both sides to step back and avoid further action that would contribute to the escalation, endanger civilian lives and undermine recent efforts to reduce tensions”, she said in a statement. “Indiscriminate rocket fire or other actions targeting civilians are unacceptable and must stop”, she insisted. Confrontation between Israel and Palestinian armed groups in Gaza resumed on 11 November after a secret incursion by Israeli special forces went wrong. (CG)
