European Parliament kicks off Parliament/Council negotiations on combating unfair trade practices

The European Parliament decided (428 votes in favour, 170 against and 18 abstentions) on Thursday 25 October to give a mandate to the rapporteur, Paolo De Castro (S&D, Italy), to negotiate with the Council an agreement on the proposal for a directive on Unfair Commercial Practices (UCP) in business-to-business relations in the food supply chain (see EUROPE 12124).
