German national Nicola Beer ready to be liberals' Spitzenkandidatin in European elections

24/09/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 24 September, the secretary general of the German liberal democrat party, Nicola Beer, was chosen by her fellow FDP party members to apply to be the liberal political family's Spitzenkandidatin for the European elections of May 2019.  Aged 48, Beer has been the party's secretary general since 2013.  Leadership candidates have until 1 February 2019 to come forward, with the appointment being planned for February 2019.  The liberals' electoral...
