Council of Europe experts confirm physical maltreatment of migrants pushed back to Serbia

There are decent conditions of stay in Hungarian transit zones but physical ill-treatment has taken place when migrants in an irregular situation have been pushed back (“refoulement”) to Serbia, is the conclusion reached in a report by the Council of Europe’s committee on the prevention of torture and inhumane or degrading treatment (CPT), published on Tuesday 18 September.
