14/09/2018 (Agence Europe) – During a meeting in Strasbourg on Thursday 13 September, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini and United Nations Special Envoy for Cyprus Jane Holl Lute agreed to stay in close contact on the Cypriot issue. According to European Commission spokesperson Margaritis Schinas, the two women discussed "perspectives of the Cyprus settlement process and how the EU can keep supporting it". The meeting was held after Holl Lute made a tour of the stakeholders in the Cypriot question (Cyprus' President Nicos Anastasiades, Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci, the guarantors – Turkey, Greece and the UK – and the EU) (see EUROPE 12064).
