Commission proposes to extend European Public Prosecutor's Office's mandate to cover fight against cross-border terrorism

The idea was first brought up by European Commission president Jean-Claude Juncker in his State of the Union address (see EUROPE 11861) in 2017.  In 2018, the European Commission is moving from words to action by proposing to extend the mandate of the European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO) to the fight against cross-border terrorism.
