27/07/2018 (Agence Europe) – In a press release published on Friday 27 July, Eurofound, the European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions, points out that teleworking is not developing in Europe despite the expansion of smartphones and laptops. Therefore, according to Eurofound, despite the constant increase in the number of teleworkers, only 3% of workers regularly work at home, 5% in several different places and 10% work as temporary teleworkers. This phenomenon, however varies significantly throughout the member states: it is much more widespread in Scandinavian member states (more than 37% in Denmark, 33% in Sweden in 2015) than in the member states of Southern, Central and Eastern Europe, which are struggling to adopt this kind of work (less than 15% in Bulgaria, Romania and Latvia and less than 10% in Poland, Greece and Italy).
