Volvo is first car manufacturer to install 'eCall' European automatic alert system

27/07/2018 (Agence Europe) – In a press release on Thursday 26 July, the Global Navigation Satellite Systems Agency (GSA), which manages the Galileo and EGNOS geolocation programme, welcomed the decision by Volvo to equip its vehicles with the"eCall" system. The GSA also indicates that the Swedish manufacturer is the first to apply the 2015/ 758 regulation establishing the"eCall" system adopted earlier this year (see EUROPE 11992).
