Spain urged comply with floods directive in Canary Islands

19/07/2018 (Agence Europe) – A reasoned opinion has been sent to Spain for its failure to comply, in the Canary Islands, with the 2007 directive on the assessment and management of flood risks (Directive 2007/60/EC), the European Commission announced on Thursday 19 July. Member states had until 22 March 2016 to transpose this directive. To date, Spain has still not notified the Commission of its risk management plans for any of the seven river basin districts in the Canary Islands,...
