12/07/2018 (Agence Europe) – On 11 July, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini and Egypt's Minister for Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry agreed "to strengthen dialogue and cooperation on all issues, with the view to address common challenges, promote joint interests and guarantee long-term stability on both sides of the Mediterranean", according to a press release from the European External Action Service. During their meeting in Brussels, Mogherini and Shoukry discussed the Iranian nuclear deal, Syria, Libya, the Middle East peace process, the situation in Yemen and, more broadly, developments in the Red Sea region. They also reviewed progress made in their partnership priorities, one year on from the adoption of these priorities (see EUROPE 11836). (CG)
