12/07/2018 (Agence Europe) – During a meeting with Armenia's new prime minister Nikol Pashinyan on Thursday 12 July, High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini said that the EU was ready to give concrete support to the country's reforms, especially through technical and financial assistance. "The fight against corruption and judicial reform are areas of particular importance", she said, according to a press release from the European External Action Service. Mogherini also announced the EU's readiness to provide assistance for the organisation and monitoring of the next elections in Armenia. As regards the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, she reiterated to Pashinyan that it is "vital that the sides engage fully in negotiations without preconditions, under the auspices of the Minsk Group Co-Chairs".
