EU wants to join convention on management of resources in North Pacific

25/06/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 25 June, without debate, the EU Council of Ministers adopted a decision authorising the opening of talks on behalf of the European Union with a view to its accession to the convention on the conservation and management of high sea fishing resources in the North Pacific.  The EU would join as a member of the North Pacific Fisheries Commission (NPFC), a body created by the convention for managing fishing in that area.  EU accession to the convention...
