At their meeting in Luxembourg on Monday 25 June, European environment ministers all hailed the upgrading of the 1998 European directive on “drinking water”, proposed by the Commission in February last to ensure that everyone throughout the EU has access to healthy drinking water (see EUROPE 11952).
