Council notes permanent minimum normal VAT rate of 15%

22/06/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 22 June, the European finance ministers, meeting in Luxembourg, adopted, without discussion, a directive to make the minimum normal VAT rate of 15% currently in force permanent (see EUROPE 12045). Readers may recall that this rate has been kept in place provisionally since the application of the VAT rules for the single market of the EU in 1993. It was prolonged for the final time in May 2016, for a period of two years, to expire on 31 December 2017....
