19/06/2018 (Agence Europe) – The vote at the European Parliament transport committee planned for Thursday 21 June on the compromise amendments to the European Commission proposal of 28 September last, aiming to revise and strengthen application of regulation 1371/2007 on rail passengers' rights and obligations (see EUROPE 11872) has been postponed. This postponement was provoked by the lack of permanent and final agreements on the different points of the text between the rapporteur, Bogusław Liberadzki (S&D, Poland) and the shadow rapporteurs. A debate will, however, take place as planned on Wednesday 20 June. Parliament's transport committee could vote on this text in July. It should be recalled that this issue is the subject of different interpretations amongst MEPs, particularly because of the different national interests at play (see EUROPE 11984). (LT)
