Council adopts its position on budgetisation of 2017 surplus

19/06/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 18 June, the Council of Ministers of the EU adopted without debate its position on draft amending budget no. 2 to the general 2018 budget concerning the budgetisation of the 2017 budgetary surplus (see EUROPE 12036). The execution of the 2017 financial year showed a surplus of €555.54 million and its budgetisation will reduce the total contribution of the member states to the financing of the 2018 EU budget by the same amount.
