On Wednesday 13 June, the European Commission proposed increasing the current financial package for security from €3.5 billion to €4.8 billion for the 2021-2027 period. The Internal Security Fund (ISF) will receive €2.5 billion, and EU agencies in the security area will be strengthened with the sum of €1.1 billion, to be distributed between Europol, CEPOL or the EMCDDA. Another financial envelope will be for nuclear security.
