In-depth investigation launches into planned acquisition of Tele2 NL by T-Mobile NL

On Wednesday 13 June, the European Commission opened an in-depth investigation into the planned acquisition of Tele2 NL by T-Mobile NL in the Netherlands, amid concerns that the operation breaches EU law on mergers and acquisitions.

The operation, which was notified to the Commission on 2 May of this year, would bring together the third and fourth largest players on the retail mobile telecommunications market in the Netherlands and would reduce the number of mobile operators in the country...
