04/06/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 4 June, the Council prolonged, without debate and for a year, its restrictive measures in connection with non-proliferation in Iran. These measures are those that have not been lifted as part of the Iran nuclear deal. They involve, among others, the weapons embargo, restrictive measures linked to missile technology, restrictions to certain nuclear linked transfers and activities and arrangements concerning certain metals and software that are subject to an authorisation scheme. According to the UK Foreign Office, 58 people and 156 entities have thus far been sanctioned in this framework (assets freeze and visa ban). The relevant legal acts will be published in the Official Journal of the EU on Wednesday 6 June 2018. (CG)
