EU reiterates human rights defenders must be respected

On Sunday 20 May, the spokesperson for the European External Action Service reiterated the importance of the work of human rights defenders after the Israel and Palestine Country Director of Human Rights Watch, Omar Shakir, had his work visa revoked and after the injury of Jafar Farah, Director of the NGO Mossawa, the Advocacy Centre for Arab Citizens in Israel.
