Commission says work still needs to be done to reach NEETs in Youth Guarantee context

22/05/2018 (Agence Europe)Since the introduction of  the "Youth Guarantee" five years ago, the situation affecting young people (15-24) on the labour market has “significantly” improved according to data published by the European Commission on Thursday 17 May. Youth unemployment fell from 24% in 2013 to 16% in 2017 at a European level, according to the Commission. The latter points out that the proportion of young people “not in education, employment or training” (‘NEET’) who are registered in the 2016 "Youth Guarantee" was 38.5% at a European level, which the Commission explains, demonstrates that the number of  NEETs still not participating in the Youth Guarantee is still high.
