Substantial increase in EFSA budget is needed for independent scientific evaluations, says Parliament's special PEST committee

Further to a visit to the seat of EFSA in Parma, the delegation of the special PEST committee of the European Parliament is more convinced than ever that, without a substantial increase of personnel and in the budget of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), it is not possible to guarantee the independence of scientific risk assessments on potentially hazardous substances for human health, the food chain and the environment of the EU (see EUROPE 12015).
