Commission requires registration of imports of electric bicycles from China

On Wednesday 2 May, the European Commission adopted a regulation requiring the registration of imports into the EU of electric bicycles from China in order to restrict low-cost imports criticised by European electric bike manufacturers. 

The Commission says that at this stage, it has sufficient evidence to demonstrate that imports into the EU of Chinese electric bikes are subsidised and amount to dumping.
