Staffan de Mistura says EU and UN cannot do miracles alone

On Tuesday 24 April, United Nations Special Envoy for Syria, Staffan de Mistura, said the EU and UN should not be asked for miracles to relaunch the political process when the three Astana guarantors – Russia, Iran and Turkey – are not fulfilling their role.

"Geneva is where all should be used to relaunch the political process.  Everyone has his job.  Asking the UN or EU to do miracles when the main players are not doing their part is too much", he said at a press conference with...
