21/03/2018 (Agence Europe) – During the meeting of the Committee of Permanent Representatives to the EU (Coreper) on Wednesday 21 March, ambassadors gave an overall positive welcome to the final agreement on the "posted workers" directive. The Czech Republic, Slovakia, Portugal and Romania, which had joined the group of member states against the agreement (see EUROPE 11983), said that although they were pleased they would reserve judgement until they saw the final text. The formal vote is expected to take place on Wednesday 28 March and the text is expected to obtain clear support from the member states, with the exception of Poland, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia and possibly the United Kingdom, Croatia and Ireland. The agreement at the European Parliament is expected to be put to a vote at the end of April and be submitted to the plenary in May or June. (PH)
