08/03/2018 (Agence Europe) – A European source told EUROPE on Wednesday 7 March that the ambassadors of the 28 EU member states have agreed to repeal the sanctions regime against three people – Ivan Hrkac, Zeljko Planinic and Bozo Peric – who had responsibility in the Mostar incidents on 10 February 1997. At the same time, the ambassadors decided to extend the legal framework adopted in 2011 in order to be able to sanction (through an assets freeze and visa ban) people who "undermine the sovereignty, territorial integrity, constitutional order and international character of Bosnia-Herzegovina", who "seriously threaten the security situation" of the country, or who undermine the Dayton Accord for a year. This legal framework currently contains an empty list. These two decisions will be officially adopted at the Foreign Affairs Council on 19 March. (CG)
