07/03/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 7 March, the committee of permanent representatives of EU member state governments (Coreper) endorsed the interinstitutional agreement on reform of the EU regulation (1141/2014) framing European political parties and their European foundations (see EUROPE 11971). Monika Panayotova, Deputy Minister for the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU states in a press release: “The positions of the Council and the Parliament were close on this file, which has allowed us to come quickly to an agreement. We want to put an end to abuses, ensure more fairness in funding and increase transparency ahead of next year’s European Parliament elections”. (MB)
