02/03/2018 (Agence Europe) – The ETF – European Transport Workers’ Federation – regrets in a press release issued on Friday 2 March that the agreement reached on the night of 28 February to 1 March between the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU and the European Parliament on new rules for the seconding (posting) of workers do not apply to road transport (see EUROPE 11972). Recognising that this is not a step forward for European workers as a whole, the ETF president, Frank Moreels, said there were enormous gaps and hypocritical inconsistency for transport. He criticises the new rules considered in the first mobility package whereby the common secondment rights might not apply to road transport workers if they work three days a month in a given state (see EUROPE 11799).
