01/03/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday, 1 March, the European Commission increased the number of historic sites with the European heritage label from 29 to 38. The musical heritage site of Leipzig (Germany), the Dohány Street Synagogue (Hungary), Fort Cadine (Italy), the Javorca Church (Slovenia), the site of the former Natzweiler concentration camp and its satellite camps in France and Germany, the Sighet Memorial (Romania), the Bois du Cazier (Belgium), the village of Schengen (Luxembourg) and the administrative building where the Maastricht Treaty was signed (Netherlands). The Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU will be organising an awards ceremony of the labels in Plovdiv, Bulgaria on 26 March.
