15/02/2018 (Agence Europe) – The spokesperson for the European External Action Service expressed the European Union’s “heartfelt condolences” to the families and friends affected by the shooting at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, Florida, and to the local and US authorities. “It is heart-breaking to see so many young lives taken away”, the spokesperson said in a press release. 17 people were killed and about a dozen injured in bursts of semi-automatic gunfire shot by a 19-year-old former pupil of the school. Since the start of this year, there have been 18 shootings in US schools and this is the 291st school shooting since the start of 2013. (CG)
