The European Commission has rescheduled the presentation of the multiannual financial framework post-2020 for 2 May of this year, “or earlier”, according to the points on the agenda of the meetings of the College of Commissioners in their revised version dated 9 February, which was consulted by EUROPE on Monday 12 February.
The meeting of 2 May is expected to be particularly busy, with a communication on the multiannual financial framework post-2020, a regulation on the financial framework, the announcement of one or more instruments for own resources and a report on the results of evaluations concerning European added value. On the same day, the Commissioners will also discuss the third mobility package (including CO2 emissions for lorries) and an education package following on from the Gothenburg summit.
If this date is kept, this would bring forward the European Commission's announcement of the forthcoming multiannual financial framework by nearly a month, having been scheduled for 29 May (see EUROPE 11955). (Original version in French by Pascal Hansens)
